How to Craft a Perfect Exec One-Pager in 5 Minutes with AI

It’s 5:01pm, the CIO of Spandex Manufacturing and the ultimate decision maker for your software proposal has just finished his shift. It’s the perfect time to call. You pick up the phone, dial and get an answer... “I’m busy, can you send me a summary of what your business does and why I should care? ” The phone is put down. You freeze, what do you do?
Whether you’re trying to set a meeting with a buyer executive, framing a discovery meeting with an exec, or introduce new execs to your sales campaign . The exec-one pager is an incredibly powerful asset that can help concisely convey the key information about a product or service and how it ties to their most relevant initiatives ,whilst enforcing your credibility as a trusted advisor who has taken your time to research their business.
Yet this is no easy feat, writing an exec summary can take a lot of time, may be irrelevant to what your buyer cares about and may poorly connect your solutions value to their initiatives. Creating some fairly big consequences like:
Lost Opportunities: Without a strong, persuasive one-pager, potential clients might lose interest or fail to see the value in the product or service, leading to lost sales opportunities.
Confused Prospects: If the one-pager is unclear or lacks essential details, it might confuse potential buyers, leading them to misunderstand the offering.
Diluted Message: An unclear or overly complicated one-pager can dilute the seller's message, making it less impactful.
Lack of Credibility: Poorly crafted or unprofessional one-pagers can harm the seller's credibility and make them seem less reliable or competent.
Ineffective Communication: A one-pager is a communication tool. If not done properly, it may fail to properly communicate the value proposition, unique selling points, or benefits of the product or service.
Hence creating an exec one-pager that directly impacts their businesses top strategic initiatives, ties into their IT strategy and better yet solves their immediate risks, highly improves your sales outcomes in translating solution value and building champions on an exec level.
It’s worth noting this has been impossible on Chat GPT-4 to date, due to its information cut-off date of September 2021, meaning any buyer information sourced is likely outdated. Well, not anymore…
In this guide I am going to show you a 5 step process of how to create a professional, highly relevant one pager for your buyer exec, using data from their most recent annual reports, in less than 5 minutes.
Step 1: Install Link Reader Plug-in on Chat GPT 4
Open ChatGPT. In the bottom left corner, select Settings > Beta Features, then toggle the Plugins setting.
In ChatGPT, select New Chat.
Switch the ChatGPT model to GPT-4.
From the dropdown menu, select Plugins > Plugin Store.
Now, select the Link Reader Plug-in. Make sure its ticked as active before trying the below prompts
Step 2: Find your Target Companies Annual Report
A simple google search of “company name, 2023 Annual Report” should do the trick
Copy the webpage link of the most recent annual report, or similar document and be ready to paste it in the following prompt
Step 3: Business Summary
Open Chat GPT-4, ensure the Link Reader Plug in is switched on and
use this PROMPT:
“Summarize the top business strategies, IT Strategies and risks highlighted in this annual report. Format as bullet points and once sentence per point. (Link of Annual Report)“
Step 4: How your solution ties into these initiatives
Follow-up with this PROMPT
“Write an additional section highlighting how (Your Solution) can help enable those business strategies. Use same bullet point format above.”
Step 5: Using this data to build your exec one-pager
Find a desirable format to copy and paste your information, the output below can be used as inspiration
For the business summary prompt, copy the majority of this information
For the solution relevancy prompt, cherry pick 3-4 discussion points in that would be relevant to your specific buyer and the metrics they’re likely measured on. E.g. CISO, Security perspective.
Result:
By following these steps you now have an impactful Exec One-Pager in less than 5 minutes, using data from a companies 2023 Annual Report. Allowing you to precisely convey the key information of your solution, and how it ties to your buyers most relevant initiatives in a concise, credible format. The outcome may not be perfect at times, so I always recommend fact checking some of the points.
Use this asset wisely, and watch it enhance the credibility, efficiency and impact of your sales campaigns.
